What's Playing...

Recent albums I've found enticing.

V / A FLOTTANTE TENSION D'ECLIPSE - TEN YEARS OF SDZ RECORDS (LP) Really great French weird-garage-punk compilation (SDZ Records) , celebrating their 10th birthday. All tracks are solid.
Unreleased tracks from: ALAN COURTIS, FEELING OF LOVE, TODDI WELLMAN, BRAINDAMAGE, CHEVEU, THE REBEL, THE O VOIDS, ANTEENAGERS M.C, DEAD CLODETTES, PIERRE & BASTIEN, DAILY VOID, POSADZKI PROJECT and ELECTRIC BUNNIES.

Hypnotic female psych group Effie Briest- Rhizomes LP (Sacred Bones). Drone, punk, dub, think slightly more modern Slits with added drone.

Local Seattle duo Lou-Lou- Running With Sir (this is not the cover art, just their myspace photo... it's hard to find much about them online). Quirky, haunting electro (more towards downtempo) with understated male and female vocals.

Wild Nothing- Gemini (Captured Tracks)
Dreamy, mopey, 80sloving fuzzy guitar-pop- nice to find a standout in this way overdone genre. Solo project of Virginian Jack Tatum.

My Bloody Valentine- Before Loveless (Lazy Records)
Awesome double LP comp featuring the Ecstasy and Wine album (1987) and their two EPS Feed Me With Your Kiss (1988) and You Made Me Realize(1988). I don't think I need to sell you on My Bloody Valentine (and if you somehow don't know them, it's ok, you're in for a treat).
